An Apple & A Lala

The New York Times reported that Apple has successfully acquired Lala, the ad-free online music streaming service said to have run into a dry well of profits. According to their report, it was Lala who approached Apple with the proposal of acquirement. The industry is buzzing with the idea that Apple would make use of Lala’s technology to make downloading music completely obsolete eventually, by putting every single user’s music libraries online.

All this comes right after Lala agreed to let their content be accessed freely on Google’s Music search, as well as their recent tie-up with Facebook to allow users to send MP3s to other users as gifts.
